I hope you haven't put away your golf clubs yet.
This year marks the 3rd annual Bob Cliffe Memorial Golf Tournament
and as some of you may or may not know, we hold it every year on Bob's birthday, which is November 15th.
This year November 15th is on a Saturday. It's also the day the Montreal Alouettes play in
the Eastern Finals starting at 1:00 pm. Because of that I'm going to try and get an earlier start
this year. The weather forecast for Saturday is a mild 13°C and I think it's going to remain
dry until afternoon.
I've phoned around some golf courses and this year we are headed to Golf Saint-Raphaël in I'le Bizard.
I spoke with someone there and they told me that they are going to have someone at the club for
around 8:00 am and that our round of golf will cost $20.00. Everyone will need to show up at the club
for 7:45 am and I'll sort out all the groups then. Frost should not be a problem this year and if the rain
holds off then we're going to have a great day in store.
This is a rain or shine (hail or snow) event but no matter what Mother Nature throws at us,
if you bring your beers (or what ever your fancy may be) then we should have another great time
(just store your drinks in your bag... we don't want to get kicked off the course.)
Also, don't forget to bring your Bob rock (memento) with you and if you
don't have one, I'll have some there for you to choose.
If you have a 2some or 3some or 4some set up,
then that would help me out big time. All I'm going to be doing is
making sure we have enough spots open for the amount of people that
show up and then we'll just go off. If you're a single, then I'll make
sure you're taken care of. I'm asking everyone to show up for 7:45 am
so that we can sign in and take some group photos.

The cost ($20.00, golf only).
If you can't make it to the golf, then maybe you can make it for the lunch/dinner afterwards.
We're once again going to go to the Bar Hymus and I figure we'll be showing up
sometime around 1:00 and 2:00 pm. and going until when ever. Bob always liked to have a pint after golf
and when ever possible would order an Imported beer. With the Alouettes game on TV, I'm going to have to
reserve some spots. So the sooner you can let me know you'll join us at Bar Hymus, the better.

If you're not able to make it out, just mark down November 15th on your calendar for next year,
then check back here. In 2009, November 15th falls on a Sunday. I'm hoping to get a big gang out that year.
I'll usually update this page a week before and give you the info on
where we're playing and where we're meeting afterwards. The only thing I ask is that you email me
to let me know if you'll be playing golf or coming out for dinner so that I can make sure we have
enough spots open and enough chairs reserved.
Thanks, Marc
